Destiny 2 The Witch Queen guide: How to rank up Fynch quickly

Fynch is the vendor for the new Savathun’s Throne World destination in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. He has a unique vendor system that allows you to gain reputation with him to unlock stuff like armor and upgrades. These upgrades include being able to play the weekly campaign mission on higher difficulties, play the Master version of the Wellspring activity, and utilize the higher level Deepsight puzzles.

You can get reputation with Fynch in a variety of ways, some of which can be very quick. In this Destiny 2 guide, we’ll break down how to level up quickly with Fynch.

Getting to rank 15

The first 15 Fynch ranks don’t have a super-efficient farm like the later 15 ranks do, but it’s not difficult to get him there. Almost everything you do on Savathun’s Throne World grants some amount of Fynch reputation, from collecting Fundamental Ozmium, to Public Events, to story missions.

If you are looking to rank Fynch up to 15 quickly, we suggest putting on either the “Combo Detector” or “Wombo Detector” Ghost mod — these allow you to see Fundamental Ozmium and lootable chests within 40 or 50-meter range respectively — and driving around Savathun’s Throne World completing patrols, completing public events, and grabbing chests. This might take some time, but if you are not in a rush you’ll be able to rank up Fynch as you play the game and complete activities.

Leveling up after 15

Once you hit Fynch rank 15, you gain the ability to complete Deepsight level three puzzles. These grant up to 200 reputation per completion — each Fynch rank requires only 1000 reputation, so every five puzzles will grant a level. These puzzles are all over Savathun’s Throne World, so you can drive around completing these puzzles while exploring. If you are looking to rank up the quickest, you can find many different routes online, but we’ll highlight one from YouTuber Scrub.

The most optimal version of this farm requires a sword with the perk Eager Edge, a Warlock on the top tree Dawnblade subclass, or a Titan using the exotic boots Lion Rampart. You can do this farm without getting the second chest, which requires the above setup, but if you can get the second chest it will make the farm go a bit faster. You are going to want to head to the Alluring Curtain load zone, which you can reach through the Quagmire.

There will be a Deepsight orb directly in front of you, activate it. Climb up the created platforms and open the chest.

If you are going for the second chest, you will want to jump out and around the corner aiming just past the hanging vase. There will be a platform on the other side with a chest on it. Land on that platform and open the chest. Using your jump and sword lunge, head back to the door where you first entered the area.

Head back towards the Quagmire loading zone until the name “Quagmire” appears on your screen, meaning you’ve left the Alluring Curtain. Turn around and head back to the Alluring Curtain. This resets the area, so when you enter you should be able to get both chests again. Repeat this process until you reach your target rank.

Note: Sometimes these chests can drop blues that head straight to your postmaster, so if you have any materials or items saved there be sure to clean your postmaster out regularly so you don’t lose them.

Another quick farm, if you’re uninterested in using swords to get that second chest, is in Queen’s Bailey. This area from the campaign has three chests within a very short radius. There’s a torch Deepsight chest straight ahead when you enter, a platforming chest on the right side of the area, and a rune chest in the cathedral. Grab all three chests and run out and back in to reset.

Find whichever one of these processes works best for you and you’ll hit Fynch rank 30 in no time.
