The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles beat-’em-up is coming to Switch
Dotemu and Tribute Games revealed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, a 16-bit-style throwback to TMNT beat-’em-up games of old, for unspecified consoles and PC back in March. Now we know one of those consoles: Nintendo Switch.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will launch on Switch later this year, Nintendo revealed during Wednesday’s Indie World showcase. The game sends ninja turtles Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello into battle against the Foot Clan, Bebop, Rocksteady, and, of course, Shredder, in an arcade-style brawler.
A new gameplay trailer released Wednesday offers a new look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge in action.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is being developed by Montreal-based Tribute Games. Two of the founders of that studio, Jonathan Lavigne and Justin Cyr, previously worked on Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game and TMNT, the acclaimed 2007 brawler for Game Boy Advance, at Ubisoft. Tribute’s other work includes retro-inspired fare Panzer Paladin, Flinthook, Wizorb, and Mercenary Kings.
In other words, it’s a far more promising prospect compared to the Ninja Turtles games from PlatinumGames and from Red Fly Studio brought to us by Activision.
