Following a bumper month of PS4 games, fans hope for some more big announcements for PlayStation Now in November.
It will be hard to beat adding a game like The Last of Us Part 2 to the PS Now digital library, even if it will only be available for a few months.
But it does go some way in replacing the games that are leaving the service during November 2021.
As confirmed earlier this year, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be removed from the PS4 lineup of titles starting next month.
The decision removes one of the best-rated games from the library, and it’s not the only one.
Sony has also confirmed that NieR: Automata will be disappearing on the same day, dropping another top-rated title from PS Now.
Both games play differently and meaning it’s unlikely to be a double-whammy for gamers subscribed during November.
The other good news is that new games will be added to the PS Now library before the end of 2021.
We already know of a few titles that Sony has announced for the service, although neither are on the same level.
Based on what has been shared so far by the tech giant, Final Fantasy 9 will be added to the service on November 2.
A little later in the year, Sony will be adding the remastered version of GTA 3 into the mix, although this isn’t scheduled until December.
Unlike Final Fantasy 9, GTA 3 will be upgraded and offer a much more modern experience over its PS2 original.
A message from Rockstar Games explains: “Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition introduces wide-ranging modern control upgrades, including improvements to targeting and lock-on aiming, updated Weapon and Radio Station Wheels, updated Mini-Maps with enhanced navigation allowing players to set waypoints to destinations, updated Achievements, Trophies, and more.
“Additional enhancements across all three titles include a completely rebuilt lighting system; improved shadows, weather, and reflections; upgraded character and vehicle models; along with new higher resolution textures across buildings, weapons, roads, interiors, and more.
“Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition also features a range of environmental upgrades including all new foliage, smoother surfaces, and increased draw distances to provide a new level of depth and clarity throughout the world.”
The other PS Now games replacing Nier:Automata and Red Dead Redemption 2 will be announced just before they make their debut.
This is expected to happen on November 1, unless Sony decides to share the news early, like with Final Fantasy 9.
We also know that Sony is only launching PS4 games on the PlayStation Now service at the moment, which rules out any PS5 games being included.
Most titles are cross-gen, but some, like Demon Souls, remain PlayStation 5 and next-gen exclusives.
Sony guarantees that each month there is at least one indie game added to the PS Now library alongside other PS4 games.
Last month, Sony added Yet Another Zombie Defense HD as the official indie game of October, which has no removal date attached.
