No Mortal Kombat 12 at Evo 2022 but MultiVersus, Capcom, & Namco promise reveals

This year’s Evo fighting game tournament will feature new content and announcements from Arc System Works and SNK but not NetherRealm.

There are a lot of developers that seem overdue for an announcement at the moment, since they’ve not released a new game for several years and haven’t revealed what they’re currently working on. Prime amongst these is NetherRealm, whose last game was Mortal Kombat 11 in 2019.

Previously they’ve alternated between new Mortal Kombat and Injustice games but all rumours at the moment point towards Mortal Kombat 12 as their next project, although you won’t find out if that’s true at this year’s Evo event.

The yearly fighting game tournament, the biggest in the world, has teased announcements from Warner Bros., Capcom, Bandai Namco, SNK, and Arc System Works, but NetherRealm will not be present.

Evo 2022 will take place in Las Vegas from August 5 to 7, i.e. this weekend, so there’s not long to find out exactly what’s going on.

Sony will be running a separate live show event at the same time, which is where the announcements are likely to be made. PlayStation Tournaments: Evo Lounge will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch or you can just check back with us on Monday and we’ll summarise it all for you.
