Niantic Announces Details For Pokemon Go Fest 2022

Pokemon Go Fest 2022 is fast approaching and Niantic has announced exactly what players can expect over the course of the event, including exclusive gameplay with free and ticketed experiences. The global event is expected to start on Saturday, June 4, and will finish on Sunday, June 5, although there are also in-person events taking place in Berlin, Seattle, and Sapporo later on in the year.

Niantic announced the news in a press release earlier today, thoroughly explaining what each day holds in store. On Saturday, players will be able to utilize rotating habitats to catch a variety of different Pokemon, switching between City, Plains, Rainforest, and Tundra every hour. There will also be a chance to catch some never before seen shinies as Pokemon Go Fest 2022 will introduce shiny versions of Shroomish, Numel, Karrablast, Axew, and Shelmet for the very first time.

Ticketed players will have a slightly different experience than those playing for free, including the chance to catch a Shiny Unown B and conduct Special Research to encounter Land Forme Shaymin. Those with tickets will also have an increased shiny rate over the course of the day and will be able to work with other players on collaborative challenges that will earn them additional bonuses.

As for Sunday, the collaborative challenges open up to all players and a brand new Pokemon will appear in five-star raids over the course of the day, although Niantic is keeping which Pokemon it is a secret for now. Ticketed players will have a couple of additional benefits, including an additional Special Research story for those that complete the Special Research story available for everyone and an increase to the rate of Team GO Rocket balloons which will double the number of Mysterious Components earned after defeating Team GO Rocket Grunts.

Those that participate in the event on either day will also receive nine free Raid passes for in-person raids, the chance to find Axew in one-star raids, and will be able to encounter a Pikachu rocking a Shaymin-inspired Gracidea flower costume. You can learn more about each day of the event and purchases tickets if you want the exclusive experiences on the official Pokemon Go website.
