My Friend Peppa Pig Is Getting A Current-Gen Upgrade Before GTA 5
More than a year after PlayStation and Xbox launched its new consoles, the crossover between those and its previous consoles appears set to continue long into the future. Component shortages mean supply has been unable to meet demand so many have stuck with their older consoles, whether through necessity or just because they want to. That means a number of games will continue to launch across both generations and others will get next-gen upgrades.
Fortnite, Assassin's Creed Vahalla, and Marvel's Avengers have all been given the next-gen upgrade treatment. You can now add My Friend Peppa Pig to that list. It was revealed via a new trailer for the children's game that if you own a copy of My Friend Peppa Pig on PS4 or Xbox One, you can now upgrade it to a better-looking, better performing version on PS5 or Series X|S.
Considering the game, the number of improvements include via the upgrade is actually very impressive. The PS5 version of My Friend Peppa Pig has DualSense and activity card support. It will also load much faster and support native 4K resolution. Alternatively, you can run the game in performance mode with a 1080p resolution at 60fps.The Xbox upgrade includes all of the above, apart from DualSense and activity card support, as well as the ability to quick resume.
My Friend Peppa Pig can now boast rolling out a PS5 and Series X|S upgrade in a more timely manner than a lot of major titles. Rocket League still doesn't have one, Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3's won't be here until later this year, and GTA 5's enhanced edition also hasn't arrived yet. What's more, it has offered up the upgrade for free, something fewer and fewer developers are doing as we move deeper into the current generation's life cycle.
If you've got kids and a console in the house, My Friend Peppa Pig might well be worth your time. It has incredibly good reviews across multiple platforms, and even though some of them were posted as a joke to ensure it has a better score than some of 2021's biggest flops, many are sincere and make My Friend Peppa Pig out to be a genuinely great game when played by its target audience. Plus, you can now show the game to that target audience in glorious 4K.
