Developers Mojang are busy working on several massive expansions for Minecraft across all platforms.
The next big update is Minecraft 1.18, which will include Caves and Cliffs Part 2, and is scheduled to arrive during 2021.
For now, we don’t have a schedule to follow on when to expect this download to arrive on PC and consoles.
However, Microsoft has revealed that they are making new ways for players to access Minecraft before update 1.18 arrives.
Early next month, the tech giant is adding Minecraft to Xbox Game Pass for PC, making it even easier to play the game on your platform of choice.
The big news here is that the Minecraft: PC Bundle includes both the Java and Bedrock Editions of the game.
“With cross-play, you can play the floor is actually lava, not pretend lava like we played as kids with your friends in Minecraft, no matter what platform they are on – Windows 10, Windows 11, Consoles, your new fancy wifi-enabled refrigerator (I made that last one up, but it would be really cool if that were true),” a message from Mojang adds.
“Quickly switch between the different editions from the unified Minecraft Launcher, faster than you could explain the rules to the fake lava floor game when you were a kid.
“I’m super excited to bring this iconic game to Game Pass for PC – there are millions of players in the global Minecraft community, and we are thrilled to soon count the Game Pass PC community among them.”
So while we don’t know exactly when Caves and Cliffs Part 2 will be playable, we do know that anytime after November 2 would make for the perfect release date.

WHEN IS MINECRAFT 1.18 COMING OUT?
Minecraft 1.18 – also known as Caves and Cliffs – was split into two parts earlier this year due to how the expansion grew in size and ambition.
Caves and Cliffs Part 2 is set to add a lot of new and helpful features, such as bundles, along with bags that can be stored in chests.
New types of biomes have been promised, and gamers will soon be able to explore Noise and Lush Caves.
Lush Caves add fruit and nature to the cave system, along with flowers from Azalea plants and Pink Blossoms.
Vines will grow that host glowing berries, which will help to naturally illuminate areas of the caves in which they grow.
Sadly, Mojang failed to provide an exact date for when the Caves and Cliffs update will be available to download.
They did say it would be ready within two months of Minecraft Live, which was held on October 16.
It sounds like November 18, 2021 could be the earliest the Minecraft update could arrive but more news is expected to be shared before anything big happens.
