Mass Effect Legendary Edition Runs At 120 FPS On Xbox Series X, 60 FPS On PlayStation 5

Prior to the release of Mass Effect Legendary Edition on May 14, Electronic Arts has revealed the performance details for all platforms. PC players can expect meaty 240 fps, while console players will get up to 120 fps in the new remaster.

Bioware’s three-game remaster collection is set to release on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, though the anthology will be “forward compatible” with Xbox Series X|S and PS5, using the power of next-gen platforms for the benefits of the players. Legendary Edition will be available in Quality or Framerate modes at any time.

The owners of new consoles may expect higher frame rate and resolution levels, however, each platform will have its own specs. For example, Mass Effect Legendary Edition runs at up to 120 fps on Xbox Series X in Framerate mode, whereas PlayStation 5 will get only up to 60 fps, the same as on PS4. This is because of the restrictions around how Sony’s console handles backwards compatibility updates.

You can already listen to the full trilogy’s updated soundtrack on YouTube, drenching deep into the unique atmosphere of one of the greatest sci-fi games.

To tight things up a little, Mass Effect Legendary Edition will receive a day one patch at about 12 GB in size across all platforms. According to what we know, the update targets the technical side of the game, bringing better performance and stability, some lightning and ambient occlusion improvements, and removing the game’s crashes.
