LEGO Super Mario toys announced, coming to toy stores this year

After teasing the first-ever collaboration between the famous brick toys, LEGO, and Nintendo's titular hero Super Mario, we finally got an announcement.

Today, The LEGO Group announced a partnership with Nintendo that will change the way people interact with Super Mario in the physical world as Mario makes his way into your hands in a whole new experience.

In a new video (below) we can see the interactive new LEGO toys featuring the Nintendo mascot in use – and it's unlike any LEGO product we've seen to date.

The video, which hints at what fans can expect when LEGO Super Mario launches later this year, shows a player using an interactive Mario figure to collect coins in a real-life game level that has been created with LEGO bricks.
