Halo’s Master Chief, Steve Downes, asks gamers to Stand Up To Cancer

Want to earn money for an incredibly worthy cause by playing games?

Last year, you may remember Doug Cockle – whose dulcet tones grace the character Geralt in The Witcher games – called gamers to arms on behalf of Cancer Research UK to raise money for the charity.

This year, the charity has gone bigger, better, and more sci-fi – recruiting Halo’s Master Chief to star in a rousing film to inspire gamers to take on their greatest enemy yet – cancer.

From 1 to 4 September the gaming community will see the UK’s top gamers answer the Master Chief’s call, as Stand Up To Cancer takes over Xbox On’s Twitch streaming platform for the week.

It was a remarkably popular endeavour last year, and this year Stand Up to Cancer looks to be an even more impressive event.

A host of gaming influencers, to be announced on Xbox and SU2C social channels in the coming week, will be teeing up their own challenges, turning their favourite game on its head and going toe-to-toe with the Xbox On stream team.

As part of this year’s Game On campaign, in partnership with Xbox, gaming fans nationwide are being asked to take on a new and subversive challenge that shakes up their usual game-play, in order to make their next game count and raise cash for Stand Up To Cancer.

Gamers can take on one of the challenges created by Xbox and Stand Up To Cancer or create their own.
