The Halo makers have revealed that the eagerly anticipated first beta for Halo Infinite will be launching this week. The Halo Infinite technical preview launches on Thursday July 29, and will only be available for a short period of time – ending Sunday August 1.
A start time for the Halo Infinite beta hasn’t been announced yet, but details are expected to be revealed in an upcoming stream.
At 2pm pacific time, 5pm eastern time and 10pm BST a stream will be held that gives the lowdown on the Halo Infinite beta.
Announcing the broadcast the official Halo Twitter posted: “Tomorrow, we’re going live with the first look at #HaloInfinite’s upcoming technical preview! Hear directly from the team about what’s in store, and how you’ll get in if you’re selected.”
If you want to tune in then either head to the Halo Twitch or Halo YouTube accounts.

Speaking about how people are selected for the Halo Infinite test, Brian Jarrard – the Community Director at 343 Industries – explained: “Ok, so #HaloInfinite tech preview invite confirmation emails started going out around 5PM PT today. A LOT of Insiders are being invited, but alas, we’ve had so much growth with the program that not everyone will get into this one. How did we select participants?
“We have a large total # target we need to hit to reach our goals. Then we look for valid insider profiles (verified email, opted in to comms, DXDIAG for PC, etc.) and ensure we have a good breadth of platforms (Xbox One, Series X/S, and different PC configurations).
“Then we go by tenure, prioritizing longer standing Insiders and going down the list until we’ve hit our total audience size. Then we blast out emails as an initial confirmation / heads-up.”
Jarrard went on to add: “And if you still don’t get an invite – please don’t despair!
“I understand it’s disappointing (heck, I NEVER get into closed ‘betas’ and the like) but we are planning for future flights that are larger in scope with even more Insiders being invited. Please hang in there and we greatly appreciate your interest and support!
“Head to http://haloinsider.com and opt-in if you’d like opportunities to participate in future flights and please be sure your profile is completed (all green check marks on the overview summary!). Thank you”.
