GTA Online Players Discover New Vice City Easter Egg, Fueling Rumors It Will Be A Part Of GTA 6
The Vice City hits keep on coming, and this latest one takes the form of a jacket players can unlock in GTA 5’s Cayo Perico Heist update.
Chances are whether you play GTA 5 or not, you will have come across the odd rumor or conspiracy theory in regard to the still-unannounced GTA 6. Even if you don’t play games at all you might have heard about it. As Shroud pointed out recently, even his grandma knows about GTA, which is why he thinks it will not be supplanted by Cyberpunk 2077 anytime soon.
There has been everything from Rockstar hiding coordinates in a trailer that led to a real-life road shaped like a VI, to rumors that GTA 6 will take place in South America. There has also been talk of the next GTA game taking place across multiple locations. The belief is that some of those locations will be cities fans of the franchise have been to before.
The most notable of those locations is Vice City. GTA players believe to have discovered a number of clues pointing to GTA 6 taking place in Vice City. The latest of those discoveries comes in the form of a jacket you might have unlocked but not realized its meaning. It’s the Panther Varsity jacket, and anyone who has completed Cayo Perico’s 100 Billion Heist will have it in their wardrobe.
The front of the jacket features a pink diamond, which could be a reference to Vice City, and a number four, Vice City was the fourth game in the franchise. Pretty vague. However, the slogan on the back of the jacket is a clear reference to the iconic PS2 game. It reads “Hostes Ad Pulverem Ferire”, a fake Latin phrase that translates to pulverizing the enemy. The same phrase can be found above a courthouse building in Vice City.
The jacket alone would probably be considered as nothing more to a previous game in the series. However, when combined with all of the other Vice City leaks and rumors, it has some people convinced that they will be able to revisit the location in the next GTA game. As long as Vice City’s killer soundtrack comes too, then we are very on board with that.
