Genshin Impact: How To Prepare For Adventure Rank 50 Early

Genshin Impact has been out (at least on PC) since the 28th of September, and for those who have been keeping up with the new quests, daily missions, and all the other stuff, it’s probably about time they hit Adventure Rank 50.

For those who are close to AR 50, it’s important to spend their your wisely. For players with questions about anything else related to Genshin Impact, check this series of guides out. But, for those nearing AR 50 specifically, here’s what you need to know to capitalize on your new rank and how you should go about getting these materials ahead of time.

What Materials Should I Have Ready?

Simply put, players who want to immediately Ascend and LVL their team should have this list of Materials ready:

  • 6 Of the Elemental Gemstones (for each character)
  • 20 of the Boss Drops (Everflame Seeds, Lightning Prisms, etc.)
  • 60 of whatever local specialty that character used to ascend previously (Small Lamp Grass, Philanemo Mushrooms, etc.)
  • 24 of the Enemy Drops they used to Ascend as well (Insignias, Scrolls, etc.)
  • 120,000 Mora per character (to Ascend to Phase 6)
  • 174 Hero’s Wit (per character to go from 80-90)
  • 648,000 Mora (per character to use in leveling up from 80-90)
  • Whatever Stormterror/Wolf Of The North Resource for Talent level-ups from 6-9
  • 247 Mythic Enhancement Ore (for 4-Star Weapons to go from 80-90)
  • Four of the 5-Star Weapon Ascension Materials For The Level 80 Weapons

That’s A Ton Of Stuff, How Should I Go About Getting All That?

It’s a lot of grinding, there’s no doubt about it. But, because of the changes introduced in Update 1.1, it’s not as bad as it could’ve been. For example, the inclusion of Condensed Resin cuts the time in half for grinding out Hero’s Wit and Mora from the Ley Lines.

And, the Local Specialties players need can either be bought from an NPC Vendor or found in easy-to-reach locations, but it’ll likely take at least 2-3 days to collect it all if a player was at zero previously.

Twenty Boss Drops Doesn’t Exactly Equal Six Gemstones

It’s either these Gemstones or the Mystic Enhancement Ore that will really slow players down. Why? Well, even if a player grinds out 20 of those Boss Drops, they likely still won’t have enough to make 6 Gemstones, so if they haven’t bought all the Gem Slivers from the Souvenir Shop in both Mondstadt and Liyue, now’s the time.

Building Up A Pile Of Mythic Ore Is A Pain

The Mythic Enhancement Ore is the biggest time-sink by far. Sure, with characters like Ningguang, finding these Shining Crystals and marking them on the map is easy enough, but even if a player hunts them down all day, they’ll likely only be able to craft 20+ Enhancement Ore.

Even the newly added Magical Crystal Chunks won’t make a dent in the 250+ needed to get a single 4-Star weapon from 80 to 90. Unfortunately, the best way to pile up these things is through patience and making sure to constantly redeem & re-send out unused characters on the 20-hour expeditions that bring Crystals in. After that, the only other method is hunting down Chests or hopping a new Event drops soon.

What Else Should I Already Have By AR 50?

Frankly, World Level 7 isn’t all too much harder than World Level 6, but for players who are struggling with open-world mobs currently, here are some ways to prepare for the change in advance:

  • Get the main party of characters to 70+ and the main DPS to 80.
  • Prioritize leveling great party combinations rather than just leveling the highest “tier” character.
  • Make sure each character has at least 4-Star artifacts that are leveled to 8 or higher.
  • Talents should be leveled at least 5, and even higher for the DPS.
  • Weapons should be at least Level 60, preferably 80 for the DPS.
  • Start stockpiling a big heap of food (such as Jade Parcels) that buffs attack, defense, and Stamina.

And that’s about it! These are the Materials and aspects players should have ready or start grabbing now to prepare for AR 50 and World Level 7.
