Xbox Series X fans have plenty of big name releases heading to Game Pass in the next few months. From Microsoft Flight Simulator, to Hades, Twelve Minutes, The Ascent, Back 4 Blood and Halo Infinite – XGP subscribers are getting tonnes of great new games to play in 2021. One of the biggest releases of the year will be Forza Horizon 5, which is out in November.
The latest offering from Playground Games made a big splash at E3 2021, with the initial reveal for Forza Horizon 5 showcasing some stunning next-gen graphics.
And in the lead up to the Forza Horizon 5 release date tonnes of new details about the Xbox exclusive have been revealed.
Playground Games have revealed the full 11 districts and biomes that gamers can explore on the Forza Horizon 5 Mexico map.
Here are the areas Forza fans can burn rubber on: Canyon, Tropical Coast, Farmland, Arid Hills, Jungle, Living Desert, Rocky Coast, Sand Desert, Swamp, Urban City of Guanajuato and Volcano.
Playground Games said the Forza Horizon 5 map will be around one and a half times the size of the Forza Horizon 4 map.
And each area on the map will move through the game’s seasons differently.
So while spring could see the rain hit the jungles and farmland of Mexico, summer could see tropical thunderstorms lash down along the coast.
Mike Brown, creative director of Forza Horizon at Playground Games, said: “We knew from the beginning that we wanted this to be the biggest Forza Horizon yet.
“However, if we wanted to be the biggest, then we felt we also needed to offer the most diversity and contrast as well.
“Mexico is almost like the whole world in one country: snowy peaks, tropical jungles, epic canyons, beautiful beaches, ancient architecture, and modern cities.
“When you add on Mexico’s incredible culture – the music, the art, the history, the people – there is no more exciting location for the Horizon Festival.”
While Don Arceta, art director for Forza Horizon 5 at Playground Games, added: “Our team collects reference from the location and creates concept images that highlight the beauty and unique detail for each biome.
“We employ techniques such as photogrammetry to recreate the environment with precision accuracy.
“And we bring the beauty of the world in, through the sights and sounds you’ll find throughout every area.
“The goal of the artistic process is to make it feel like you’re really there.”
