Felicia Day Stars In Dungeon of Naheulbeuk, A Tactical RPG That Makes Fun Of RPGs

The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos will bring tactical, turn-based RPG gameplay along with the voice talents of Felicia Day.

Turn-based RPGs are making a bit of a comeback. We’ve heard that Baldur’s Gate 3 is in development, and even Yakuza is becoming turn-based in Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon.

Dungeons & Dragons’ popularity is at an all-time high, so the time is right for a parody game combining both in an off-the-wall adventure. Oh, and Felicia Day is in it too.

From Montreal-based developer Artefact Studio comes The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos, a turn-based tactical RPG that will combine classic RPG elements with the classic fantasy parody of French author John Lang. Originally an audio comedy series, this is the first time that the Naheulbeuk universe has made its way to a video game.

The Naheulbeuk universe is pretty typical high fantasy, with wizards, rangers, Conan the Barbarian-style fighters, dwarves, and more. There’s also an evil lord named Zangdar who’s trying to do evil things, and it’s up to you to go through his dreadful dungeon to stop him.

To do that, you’ll assemble a team of adventurers, outfit them with the best magical gear you can find, and then tiptoe down the dungeon to fight over 100 different types of enemies. There are boss fights, secret rooms, destructible objects, an “adaptive” difficulty system, inventory management, and both passive and active skill trees for you to customize each and every one of your characters.

We might have mentioned that Felicia Day headlines this little outing, and she’ll have more to say about Dungeon of Naheulbeuk at PAX East. She’ll be at the Voice Acting in Video Games panel along with anime voice actor Micah Soluso and several with guests to discuss voice acting and their current projects. The panel runs from 2:30 to 3:30 PM EST on Thursday, February 27th. If you can’t make it, tune in via Twitch.

The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos arrives on PC via Steam sometime this summer.
