Fast Travel Is So Quick In Genshin Impact That You Can Beat Arrows To Their Destination
Since launch, it was always apparent that Genshin Impact’s fast travel was blazingly quick. Players were able to teleport across the map in the blink of an eye, making backtracking for quests much more convenient than in other games. One player recently discovered just how instantaneous it really is.
A clip posted to Reddit revealed that a player can fire an arrow in a large arc and fast travel to a destination before the arrow reaches its target. The clip showcases this feature in Liyue Harbor, using Childe as the playable character. They fire a volley of seven arrows towards Mt. Tianheng, then fast travel to a nearby ridge.
Upon reaching the mountain ridge, viewers can watch the arrows find their mark, hitting a Hilichurl and knocking it off of the mountain. The player then follows the enemy into the valley to finish it off.
Not only is clip a testament to the speed of Genshin Impact’s fast travel, it reveals an interesting factor about how the fast travel actually functions. In particular, it means the world of Genshin Impact is persistent even during loading.
The fact that arrows continue to fly through the air while a player is fast traveling shows that the world persists while the game is loading the player to their fast travel point. While this may be due to the fact that the travel point was incredibly close to the starting point so there was not a lot of new information for the game to load, it is still incredibly impressive.
Most games would allow players to fast travel by unloading the portion of the map where their character is currently located while also loading their destination. Genshin Impact is able to move players so quickly and load areas so efficiently that it does not need to unload the starting area.
Genshin Impact continues to surprise its players, as the game has consistently grown since its release. An upcoming event, titled Lost Riches, promises to provide players with a fun treasure hunt across the world of Teyvat.
