Far Cry 6 Gets First-Look Trailer Following Leak
After a leak that spoiled the surprise, Ubisoft showed the first real debut of Far Cry 6 during its Ubisoft Forward event.
The studio saved Far Cry 6 for last during today’s event, starting with a cinematic trailer. It showed Esposito as Anton Castillo showing his son a grenade and then handing it to him without the pin. He had his son carry it to the streets where people were rioting to show him an example of how to rule the country: clutching it tightly. It ended with a release date of February 18 2021.
The title and some details originally leaked on a PlayStation Store listing. That leak outed the setting and platforms, as well as the involvement of actor Giancarlo Esposito as the despotic ruler Anton Castillo. The company followed up with a teaser that both confirmed and cheekily acknowledged the leak.
Far Cry 6 is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One, as well as next-gen platforms. It was one of several games shown during the Ubisoft event; though as announced just before, the publisher not address recent abuse allegations within the company.
