Dark Fantasy Pascal’s Wager Arrives On PC On March 12

Pascal’s Wager: Definitive Edition, a challenging action RPG set in a world of dark fantasy, is coming to PC on March 12. The game, considered one of the best mobile games in recent years, will include upgraded visuals and support for 4K resolution in its new release.

The game is based on the philosophical argument presented by the seventeenth-century French philosopher, theologian, mathematician and physicist, Blaise Pascal, which theorizes that humans bet with their lives that God either exists or does not. Pascal argued that a rational person should live as though God exists. If God does not exist, the person will suffer a finite loss, if God does exist, they will live eternally in Heaven and avoid Hell.

Although the Android and iOS versions had good production values, the Definitive Edition will feature uncapped frame rates, and fully mappable mouse/keyboard and controller keybinds. It will also include all previously released content, including The Tides of Oblivion expansion, and Into the Dark Mist mode, as well as three new outfits for the game’s characters.

According to its description on Steam, “Pascal’s Wager: Definitive Edition is a challenging action role playing game set in a world of dark fantasy. Step into the shoes of Couriers, as they discover the tale behind the mysterious Dark Mist.

“The Colossus, mysterious creatures that dispelled the Dark Mist that once engulfed the land of Solas, has fallen. As Couriers, you will explore various handcrafted locales in this intriguing world full of secrets, hidden mysteries, and stories. The veiled truth of Solas awaits your discovery.”

Developed by TipWorks and published by Giant Global, Pascal’s Wager belongs to the Souls-like genre, which is named after FromSoftware’s RPG series. Other games like the Nioh series and Mortal Shell are also highly regarded entries in the genre. TipWorks, a Shanghai-based studio owned by Giant, which was founded in 2004, currently employs 30 developers.

Pascal’s Wager can be preordered on Steam, where it’s currently 10% off the normal $20/£18/€20 price. Early purchase will also include a free copy of Pascal’s Wager Original Soundtrack, which was recorded at the famed AIR Studios.
