Cyberpunk 2077 Hotfix 1.04 Now Live On PlayStation And PC (Xbox Update "Out As Soon As Possible")

CD Projekt Red has pushed Cyberpunk 2077’s hotfix 1.04 live on PlayStation consoles and PC. Xbox users will need to wait a bit longer for the patch, but no release date was announced.

Unlike the Day 0 update – which didn’t come with a detailed list of patch notes – the latest Cyberpunk 2077 hotfix comes with a laundry list of changes. The majority of them relate to various bugs encountered during quests in Night City, while several others squash visual hiccups and performance issues. The biggest change, however, is the modification made to flashing lights that play before a braindance – the culprit of seizures upon the game’s launch.

Here are the highlights – or you can check out the full list here:

  • Improved stability, including various crash fixes.
  • Modified the flashing effect on braindances to reduce the risk of inducing epileptic symptoms.
  • Removed copyrighted songs that accidently played with “Disable Copyrighted Music” featured turned on.
  • Fixed issue while trying to complete Gig: Freedom of the Press.
  • Fixed issue with I Fought The Law not progressing properly.

Some of the patch notes might contain minor spoilers, so we’d recommend not looking at them unless you think one of the bugs has been affecting your playthrough. All told, more than 15 issues relating to quests in Night City were patched out with hotfix 1.04 – not a bad start, but it’s rough so many changes were needed just days after launch.

There’s also a few console-specific updates, including improved reflections to reduce the “smudge effect” players have been reporting. As for PC-specific updates, there’s only one – and it’s nothing big. Switching your language to “default” now correctly sets it to the language of your Steam account.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PC on GOG.COM, Steam and Epic, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Stadia from December 10, 2020. When you buy Cyberpunk 2077 on GOG.COM, 100% of your money goes to CD PROJEKT Group and supports their future projects.
