Cyberpunk 2077 free DLC will hit Night City in early 2021
Aside from the two patches coming in January and February, CD Projekt intends to begin adding free DLC to Cyberpunk 2077 as well.
Though Cyberpunk 2077 has already started to receive patches to address the various bugs and glitches it suffers from, the major patches aren’t due until the first months of 2021.
But those aren’t the only things CD Projekt has planned for the game, as the official website now states that free DLC is coming in early 2021 as well.
CD Projekt had already previously confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 would have free DLC, but there have been no exact details as to what will be included.
It’s suspected that the game will also offer paid expansions, similar to what The Witcher 3 did, and there is a multiplayer mode too, but that isn’t due until 2022 at the earliest.
While it was probably always the plan to begin adding free DLC in early 2021, some may feel that it’s too soon considering the current state of the game.
When it launched, Cyberpunk 2077 was found to be incredibly buggy, especially on the base PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
This prompted CD Projekt to publicly apologise for releasing it in such a state and promised to offer full refunds, with Sony evening delisting the game from its PlayStation Store.
Considering the game’s launch has dealt a massive blow to both the company’s reputation and finances, CD Projekt will likely be prioritising the aforementioned patches, if it hopes to achieve its goal of rebuilding trust.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are planned for 2021.
