Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Where To Find The Deserted Chalet Key

Assassin's Creed Valhalla's giant map is filled with all sorts of secrets and treasures to find. However, many people in the AC world are smart enough to lock their valuables up. Yet, they also tend to misplace or die with the key. The latter happened to an unfortunate man named Ornir as he perished with the Deserted Chalet key.

Therefore, to fetch it, you need to locate his corpse, which the game doesn't put on your map, so it isn't easy to find. Don't worry, though, as here is a detailed explanation of where it is and what it opens.

Where Is The Key?

As you'd expect, the key is near the Deserted Chalet in Rygjafylke, Norway. To find it, you want to head to the northeast part of the central island. Unfortunately, getting to the island isn't exactly easy as the whole place is surrounded by freezing cold water.

So, if you swim across, you will take some damage. It's up to you whether you brave it or find a boat to remain dry and safe on your way there.

The danger doesn't end there, though, as guarding the key is a pack of wolves. Take them down, and loot the skeleton who's laid next to a shield. This will get you the Ornir's Key – aka The Deserted Chalet Key. You can also read a journal that's nearby, which gives you more information about Ornir, but it's not required reading.

What Does It Open?

There's not much point in finding a key if you're not going to use it. So, now is a good time to locate the chest that it opens. Thankfully, you don't need to go far as the treasure is at the Deserted Chalet, just southwest of the key's location.

It's inside the big, cobweb-filled house (or chalet). Once you're there, you can read the note on the table or smash some boxes. Yet, the most important thing to do is find the chest in the corner of the room, next to the window. Use the button prompt to open it and collect the Carbon Ingot. It's not the most exciting treasure, but it can be useful as it allows you to upgrade your gear.
