Animal Crossing Fan Perfectly Recreates Leslie Knope’s Office

Despite naming their Animal Crossing island Pawnee, this player is only just getting around to recreating Leslie Knope’s iconic office. The virtual version is a shot-for-shot replica of the one found in Parks & Recreation – minus the autographed photo of Larry Byrd.

Animal Crossing is home to dozens of hilarious cross-over creations, but this one is arguably the best we’ve yet seen in 2021. From the desk, photographs, and bookshelf in the back, not a detail is spared in this painstaking replica. We don’t get to see the rest of the island, but the creator claims there are “Parks & Rec touches throughout,” including the show’s theme song as the island tune and a Pawnee flag.

Unfortunately, there’s no mention of the infamous pit.

Although it’s not as popular as it was in 2020, Animal Crossing remains one of the most-played games on Switch. Nintendo recently announced Mario-related items will be finding their way to New Horizons in March – including functioning Warp Pipes.

The idyllic sim is also still popping up in television shows, as Last Week Tonight recently took aim at New Horizons. Host John Oliver was discussing the current pandemic, before pivoting to talk about some of the strange behaviors that Animal Crossing may have normalized.
