Adult Entertainer Pokeprincxss Forced To Rebrand After Nintendo Cease And Desist

Nintendo issued a cease and desist order against a social media influencer who was using the name Pokeprincxss, for referencing Pokemon in her name and merchandise. The adult TikTok star, who has 1.9 million followers on the video platform, began using the name eight years ago to produce Pokemon-inspired content and products.

Now known as Digitalprincxss, the content creator was served with the cease and desist order two months ago after trademarking Pokeprincxss and promoting products with Pokemon characters and Poke Balls. In a video, Digitalprincxss claimed that numerous influencers and unaffiliated retailers use the Nintendo characters to market products. She maintains that she was singled out because of her side gig on OnlyFans where she posts NSFW photos and videos.

“Nintendo doesn’t want me to think I’m in any way, shape or form affiliated with them or that I have a partnership with them — and it all comes down to me being an adult entertainer,” she said. “Nintendo and Pokémon is a family-friendly company so they don’t want that to at all ruin their reputation or anything if people thinking that me and them are affiliated.”

Digitalprincxss has been instructed by Nintendo to not use any Pokemon characters or references in her content or merchandise. She has also been asked to reimburse the Japanese company for an undisclosed amount of revenue earned from her sales of Pokemon-inspired products.

Although she has removed all merchandise from her online store and social media channels, some third-party retailers are still selling remaining merchandise. Despite the legal entanglement, Digitalprincxss says she has no hard feelings and admits she “should have been more educated” about copyright infringement.

“It’s just that I see so many other people selling Pokémon-related things, like fan art, that I didn’t really see a problem with it,” she said. “It’s kind of a cool thing to say that my childhood dreams, the ones that made my childhood so cool, they finally noticed me. All it took was for me infringing on everything about them.”
