Secret continue to dominate at the WePlay! Tug of War: Mad Moon tournament

WePlay! Dota 2 Tug of War: Mad Moon’s penultimate day of
games came to a close just a short time ago as Virtus.pro and Team Secret
battled in the upper bracket finals – with the winner taking their spot in tomorrow’s
grand final.

Earlier in the day we saw both Aggressive Mode and Gambit
Esports fall at the hands of Nigma, leaving only three teams in the WePlay!
Dota 2 Tug of War: Mad Moon. For Nigma, they had their spot in the lower bracket
finals but their challenger for tomorrow’s opening series would be decided
between Team Secret and Virtus.pro. VP had been on a magnificent run at the
event, looking to be in some of the best for that we had seen them in in quite
some time. However, their opponents would be supposedly the best team in the
world currently, Secret.

While VP had some moments where they seemed as though they might be able to take down Secret in the two games of the best-of-three that were required, they could not overcome the strength of their opponent’s full-force lineup. Even with the hometown support at their back, it was far from enough for VP to fight back in either of the games. Secret were constantly able to rip through their opponents as they secured a grand final showing at the event with a 2-0 victory.

While VP face a daunting task in beating Nigma tomorrow in the lower bracket finals, they have already registered a victory over the team in the group stages and will be hoping for a replay of that if they want a shot at revenge on Secret in the grand finals. Tomorrow we will see the culmination of the WePlay! Dota 2 Tug of War: Mad Moon event as a champion will be crowned in Kiev, the same region we will be returning to in little over a week for the next Minor in the Dota 2 Pro Circuit season.
