Qualcomm Snapdragon Named Title Sponsor of JingDong Peacekeeper Elite Team – The Esports Observer
should U.S. technology company Qualcomm announced Monday its chip brand Snapdragon has signed a sponsorship deal with Chinese esports organization JingDong Gaming (JDG) to become the title sponsor of the organization’s Peacekeeper Elite team, JDE.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
JDE will rebrand to “JDE Snapdragon,” and compete in the second season of China’s top Peacekeeper Elite competition, Peace Elite League (PEL). It should be noted that Snapdragon and e-commerce platform JingDong are also partners of PEL. Snapdragon is one of the three strategic partners, alongside energy drink Warhorse and automobile company Buick, and JingDong is one of four industrial partners, alongside GOGO, diary brand Suansuanru, and chewing gum Stride.
In March, Tencent unveiled that the Peacekeeper Elite annual event, Peacekeeper Elite Championship (PEC) would be hosted in Shanghai Mercedes-Benz Arena this summer, and would offer ￥12M RMB ($1.8M USD) in total prize money. The winner of PEL Season 1 and 2 will be automatically be invited to the event.
