PlayVS Announces PlayVS Cup High School Competition – The Esports Observer

PlayVS, an esports platform and operator of high school and collegiate esports leagues in North America, has announced the creation of the PlayVS Cup. The PlayVS Cup, starting in June, will see teams from across PlayVS’ high school-aged competitions get the chance to be crowned the PlayVS Champion in League of Legends, Rocket League, and Fortnite. A championship trophy and scholarship money are on the line.

The first-ever PlayVS Cup is set to start in June after the conclusion of the PlayVS Spring season. Spanning one week, all of the final matches will be broadcasted on the PlayVS Twitch channel.

To be eligible, all championship teams that competed in the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 high schools can enter. For both the League of Legends and Rocket League events, the top 64 high school teams will receive invites to compete. All championship teams are invited to participate in the PlayVS Cup, but it remains optional for players.

The top 100 East and top 100 West players will face off in Fortnite solos, while for Fortnite Trios, the top 66 teams will be invited to compete. Both competitions will face off in two group heats, with the top 50 players advancing to the grand finals.

Note that while PlayVS has entered into an exclusive partnership with the National Federation of State High School Associations network, the PlayVS Cup is not associated or sponsored with the organization or any other state associations for this event.
