Optic Gaming Los Angeles welcomes back TJHaly – Daily Esports

Optic Gaming Los Angeles appears to have completed their 2021 Call of Duty roster by announcing the return of Thomas “TJHaly” Haly. He joins Kenny “Kenny” Williams, Zack “Drazah” Jordan, and team captain Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat. However, there is still a lot of question marks surrounding Drazah’s starting position on the team. He was previously on Optic Gaming’s bench as a substitute before transferring to the main roster. There he played alongside his current teammates to place 5th/6th at the 2020 Call of Duty Championship.

TJHaly originally did not extend his contract with Optic Gaming when SlasheR, Kenny, and Drazah re-signed on September 9. This gave him the freedom to speak with other teams and possibly transfer to a new team. There were even rumors that he could join the Seattle Surge alongside Sam “Octane” Larew. Those rumors were soon squashed when Seattle officially completed their 2021 roster back in September.

Optic Gaming continues to succeed with TJHaly

Optic Gaming originally acquired TJHaly from Rise Nation before the start of Black Ops 4 in 2018. Since then he has stayed with the organization and helped them win  CWL Las Vegas Open 2019. After that, Optic continued to come close to greatness with TJHaly on their team. They won seven CheckMate Gaming ProDowns and placed 3rd at three different events during the year.

Unfortunately, Modern Warfare saw the downfall of Optic Gaming, which struggled to preform against most teams. The team had three 3rd/4th place finishes across the year and only one 2nd place finish at Florida’s home series. It wasn’t until the 2020 Call of Duty League Championship where the team started to hit their final form. They started the tournament in the bottom four and managed to climb to 5th/6th place. This stellar performance from the current roster netted them $300,000 in prize earnings. TJHaly’s return to the roster that placed high at the championships can only mean great things for the upcoming year.
