Open qualifier registration for EPICENTER 2020 has now begun
EPICENTER is set to be the fourth and penultimate Major of
the current Dota 2 Pro Circuit season and while there is still some time until
the event, Epic Esports Events have confirmed the dates and format for the open
qualifiers.
While the third rotation of Minor and Major is yet to begin, information regarding the fourth Major of the season has become available today as EPICENTER confirmed the dates for the open qualifiers and opened up the registration for this too. The open qualifiers for nearly every region are set to take place in a month from March 27th-28th, while closed qualifiers for the Major are set to run from March 29th to April 1st, 2020. While this is true for Europe, CIS, Southeast Asia, North and South America, the Chinese open and closed qualifiers will be held separately.
All teams wanting to participate in these open qualifiers
can now signup on the FACEIT platform which will be used to host the games in
question. The open qualifiers will feature an array of best-of-one matchups
before a best-of-three semi-final – and the top two teams from each region will
advance into the closed bracket. At time of writing, each region has received
two slots in the EPICENTER 2020 Major, with the Minor champion claiming one
spot and three slots that are currently yet to be confirmed.
The EPICENTER Major is set to run from May 2nd through to May 10th, with the events playoff stage taking place at the CSKA Arena in Moscow where one team will be crowned champion, claiming a sizeable portion of the $1,000,000 prize pool as well as 4,850 DPC points. More information on the event, including ticketing information and links to the regional registration pages can be found on the EPICENTER website here.
