MPL-PH format changes revealed to include increase in matches from 45 to 65

More details regarding the new format of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Philippines (MPL-PH) have been revealed. The season which is set to begin on August 21st will continue to be played online in the same fashion the latter part of Season 5 did due to the ongoing global pandemic COVID-19.

A total of 10 teams will compete across the six week regular season with the top eight teams moving into the postseason. You can find the list of teams broken down by groups below.

One major change brought about in Season 6 is the increased number of matches from 45 to 65. This will allow teams to play each member of its group twice in addition to taking on each member of the opposite group once for a total of 13 matches per team. All matches will be best-of-three series.

Group matches will take place on Fridays and Saturdays while the inter-group series’ will be held on Sundays.

-Participants: 10 teams;
-Regular Season lasts for 6 weeks;
-20 extra matches player (65 instead of 45);
-All matches played in best-of-three format
-Top 8 teams advance to the playoffs;
-Bottom 2 teams will be degraded;
-The Open Qualifiers will decide the 2 (new) teams qualifying for MPL.
