gpk returns to Gambit's active roster with the StarLadder ImbaTV Minor

Considered one of the CIS uprising stars, Danil “gpk” Skutin will rejoin his teammates and will fight with Gambit Esports for the upcoming StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor title.

Extract from Gambit’s official announcement:

“We are pleased to announce that Danil “gpk” Skutin returns to the starting line-up. This decision was made together with the players, who pridefully went through this challenging period both for the club and the team. At the moment we are acquiring US visas and on Saturday we’ll begin coot camping in Kyiv to prepare for the upcoming minor.

We would like to thank fn, who once again, on short notice, agreed to act as stand-in and proved to be a skilled player and an excellent teammate. “

gpk was benched at the begging of February 2020 after he refused to join the team for a pre-qualifier bootcamp. Back then, he was directly negotiating with Virtus.pro, just like Bakyt “Zayac” Emilzhanov who at that time was playing for Na’Vi and Zaur “Cooman” Shakhmurzaev who was already committed to B8 and was already training with them for the LA Major qualifiers. While Zayac and Cooman were successfully snug out from his team, gpk’s transfer didn’t happen and Gambit decided to bench him for a whole month to clear the situation.

Gambit played the Dota Pro Circuit qualifiers with Rostislav “fn“ Lozovoi standing in, but couldn’t secure a ticket to the ESL One Los Angles Major, They did, however clinch a spot at the SL ImbaTV Minor and will have the chance to join the Major team line-up by claiming the trophy next week in Kyiv. During his time on the sidelines, gpk also lost the chance to play with his team at the WePlay! Tug of War: Mad Moon. Gambit placed top four last week at the WePlay! tournament, just behind Virtus.pro who finished top 3 and are also qualified for the LA Major.

StarLadder ImbaTV Dota Minor is set to commence on the 5th of March with the group stage matches. Gambit will play in Group B alongside Alliance, Fighting PandaS and NoPing e-sports.
