Four teams eliminated from the CDA-FDC Professional Championship Season 2

The top teams in China are currently competing in two
separate events, both seeing their group stages come to an end shortly. For the
CDA-FDC Professional Championship Season 2, that would be today, as the final
standings moving forward were determined.

For a little over a week, the CDA-FDC Professional
Championship has seen its group stage taking place, with that action
culminating today. Most teams participating in the event are also a part of the
currently ongoing China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 2, making the timings of each
event overlap quite a bit. But, even so, the teams have now completed the group
stages of the CDA-FDC tournament, with no real surprises for the most part.

Group A had its final series earlier today with PSG.LGD taking on Team Aster – a repeat of their recent matchup at the Pro Cup Season 1. Much like that, Aster were dominant, completing their group stage run without dropping a single series and only losing one game today to ruin their untouchable perfect score. LGD were able to still snag the second place in Group A, with Invictus Gaming managing to secure the third spot – which sends them into the lower bracket of playoffs.

In Group B, Vici Gaming were the unstoppable ones, going unbeaten through all four of their series too, claiming a solid first place in the standings. The rest of the placements came down to the final series between Aster.Aries and Elephant – with the possibility of both teams being eliminated depending on the result. But Elephant’s 2-0 victory was exactly what was needed as they surprisingly leapfrogged Royal Never Give Up and claimed the third-place finish which they needed to avoid elimination.

Unfortunately for RNG, Aster.Aries, iG Vitality and Sparking Arrow Gaming, they will be eliminated from the event – however, both RNG and SAG still have a shot at making it through to the playoffs at the China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 2.

The first round of upper bracket action in the playoff action kicks off tomorrow, with two massive series – the first being VG versus LGD and the second being Aster versus Elephant. It will be interesting to see if LGD can pick themselves up from their poor performance at the China Dota2 Pro Cup and if Aster will continue their domination.
