Fortnite: World Cup Champion Aqua And Teammates Banned During FNCS Week 3 Finals

Aqua, Noahreyli and Rezon have all received bans from Fortnite.

Shortly after covering the semi-finals encounter between top trios benjyfishy, MrSavage and LeTshe and Aqua, Noahreyli and Rezon, ESTNN can confirm that Epic Games issued a ban to Aqua and his teammates. This ban transpired rather quickly after these two top trios encountered each other multiple times during the week three Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) Qualifier. Aqua’s trio pursued Benjy’s trio on two separate occasions, which ultimately led to benjyfishy, MrSavage and LeTsHe not reaching the Grand Finals. Quicker than anyone could have imagined, Epic decided to discipline Aqua and his teammates based on the evidence available to them.

Aqua, Rezon and Noahreyli Banned

In response to the ban, Aqua retweeted his post from October 18, where he wrote, “epic likes benjy more i guess.” Before that, Aqua tweeted a picture of himself and Benjy in front of the Doom’s Domain statue. The two trios have consistently battled each other in competitive matches this season. Aqua, Noahreyli and Rezon reached the week three finals with 166 points and three Victory Royales. However, they did not last more than one game in the Grand Finals. Despite an impressive nine-elimination fourth-place finish in the first match, Aqua and company failed to queue into subsequent games. A 34th team appeared on the leaderboards, meaning Aqua, Noahreyli and Rezon were no longer in the competition.

Ineligible for FNCS Finals and Potentially Beyond

Aqua released a Twitlonger post, stating, “we are not banned we just dont wanna play its boring without early fighting benjy :(.” It’s unclear as to how long the ban will last. However, this discipline likely means that he and his teammates Noahreyli and Rezon will not be eligible for FNCS Heats or the Season 4 Finals. Several professional players, including organizational teammate Noward, began tweeting out #unbanaqua in response to Epic’s decision. Rezon reacted to the situation with a meme similar to the trend Aqua started after the disqualification.

Aqua also revisited an incident in Chapter 2 – Season 1, where Benjy and his teammates Mongraal, Wolfiez and Nayte stood accused of stream sniping.

As all this drama unfolds, it’s important to remember that Epic typically does not address the disciplines that it enforces directly. Player’s usually do not know until they see an in-game message, which states the length and reason for the ban. I doubt anything will change in this scenario. The Fortnite developers recently warned Fortnite World Cup Champion Bugha for collusion with no analysis or information. What we do know at this point is that Aqua, Noahreyli and Rezon will likely not have the opportunity to finish out this competitive season of Fortnite. The ban will likely include DreamHack and other events as well. ESTNN reached to all parties out for comment but has not received a response.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
