DreamHack Open Anaheim reaches semifinals, the new Complexity & Gen.G lineups remain

Playoffs are here if you’re following DreamHack Open Anaheim. The Counter-Strike tournament is down to just four teams as the event jumps into the semifinals.

FURIA and Gen.G had a day off yesterday thanks to their success in the early stage of the tournament where they went 2-0 to secure a berth straight into the semifinals. Gen.G bested ENCE and Complexity by a 16-14 and 16-13 scoreline respectively to earn their place while FURIA took dominated Endpoint and North, giving up only nine rounds between the two maps.

Complexity vs. FURIA:

Complexity will be lined up against FURIA thanks to their three map victories over MIBR. The North American and European mix opened up their event with a 16-11 win over MIBR before sweeping them 2-0 to decide who would be moving into the playoffs. Valentin “poizon” Vasilev and Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke both netted +21 kill-to-death differentials and over 100 average damage per round in the dominant series.

North vs. Gen.G:

North is set to take on Gen.G in the other semifinal. North opened up their event with a 16-8 win over forZe but was quickly brought down in a 16-3 loss to FURIA in the follow-up. A 2-0 over Endpoint will allow North a shot at redemption as they make their way into the playoffs. Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye had a tremendous series, finishing with a +28 k/d differential and 104.6 ADR.
