Dota 2: StarLadder ImbaTV Season 3 Minor Meta Analaysis
Here are the hottest heroes in professional Dota 2 right now.
After a couple of days of intensive action, the third Minor of this DPC came to an end. Even though they were not among the heavy favorites, Team Aster absolutely ripped through the competition. In fact, they nearly finished the tournament without a loss. However, Alliance was able to break their perfect score in the Grand Final, despite the fact, they’ve ended up losing the series with a score of 3:1.
Now, just a couple of days until the Los Angeles Major begins, it’s time to check at something important. Let’s see which were the hottest picks during the Minor because we will most likely see them in the upcoming tournament as well.
Rubick and Snapfire
It probably doesn’t come as a surprise that the most picked heroes at this tournament were Rubick and Snapfire. Both of them are very strong in the current meta because they bring a lot to the table. In addition to being pretty decent lane supports, those heroes are also capable of doing a lot of damage. This is especially true for Snapfire because the hero has one of the highest damage ultimates in Dota 2.
Despite the nerfs (which many people thought that will mean the end of the hero), Snapfire still continues to be one of the go-to picks for most teams. However, there is one very important thing to mention and that’s the win rating. Unlike some of the events that took place in the last month, Snapfire’s win rate is just abysmal — just 21%.
On the other hand, Rubick isn’t shining so bright either with just a 43% win rate out of 14 picks. This hero hasn’t really been off-meta for a while now, so we can definitely expect to see him in the upcoming Major.
The hero that takes the third spot with 12 picks is Lich. Similar to the top two support, his win rating is also not the best — 42%. This was kind of expected because most teams learned how to play against this hero. If you remember, he used to be one of the strongest support heroes when he was reworked. However, after a series of nerfs, he now finally seems to be in the right spot in terms of his power.
Mars is a very interesting hero that recently started to become increasingly popular. Even though he seemed out of place at first, many teams have successfully learned how to utilize him properly. Of course, the hero shines the most when he is put in the offlane, which is nearly every single team runs him as an offlaner.
Mars was picked a total of 11 times and has a 45% win rating, which is not that bad, considering the stats of the other top heroes.
Ancient Apparition, Clockwerk, Disruptor
The last three heroes all have 10 picks, which is why we will cover them together.
AA is one of those cheesy picks that many teams have in their backpack. He was never really a top meta hero, apart from when he was first released. One of the main problems of this hero was his weak laning stage. However, since the change to his skills, he is not a pretty good laner that can deal a lot of damage. Nonetheless, the hero is mostly famous for his game-breaking ultimate. If he lands it during a team-fight, it can make all the difference in the world. AA has a staggering 80% win rate, which is one of the highest of any heroes.
Clockwerk, on the other hand, is one of those heroes that can be picked in pretty much any scenario. He is always capable of providing his team with the needed disables in all stages of the game, which makes him a very strong pick. That’s why it doesn’t come as a surprise that he has one of the best win ratings — 60%.
Last, but definitely not least, we have Disruptor. He’s been “on and off” the meta for a while now, but it seems like this time, he is here to stay. He is annoying during the laning stage and has a team-fight deciding ultimate later on, which is why so many pro teams love him.
Nevertheless, he has the lowest win rating in comparison to the rest — just 30%.
We are just a couple of days away from the beginning of the LA Major. However, before that, we will be able to watch Dota Summit 12. It might not be a DPC tournament, but it will still gather some of the best teams in the world. It begins tomorrow, so don’t miss it.
