Dota 2: Evil Geniuses Bench Ramzes
It seems like EG will change its roster soon.
In case you’ve forgotten, Roman “Ramzes” Kushnarev joined the strongest NA team in the world, Evil Geniuses, around one year ago. During that time, he was a vital part of the team, but it seems like the organization decided that it’s time for changes.
North America’s Dota 2 scene was heavily impacted by COVID-19, which is why none of the teams there achieved any good results. Therefore, EG decided to bench Ramzes, meaning that he won’t play for the team for now.
Ramzes and EG
Ramzes made the move to EG after TI 9. He used to be a part of Vitus.Pro, but the CIS team also changed its roster drastically, which is why Ramzes decided to switch the regions. He became the second CIS player to go to NA after Roman “Resolut1ion” Fominok.
The first couple of months after he moved were good for the team. Even though they only got to play in two Majors, they achieved good results and definitely looked like one of the best teams in the world. Sadly, COVID-19 completely changed the professional Dota 2 scene.
Similar to many other players who were not from NA, Ramzes decided to return home and take part in the online events. However, since his team-mates were in NA, Ramzes had to play with very high ping. Needless to say, this didn’t allow him to be as useful as he’d want. Consequently, EG even played with BuLBa in certain events.
The last tournament where Ramzes played was the OMEAG League, which took place in September. EG had to make the hard decision to leave their region and compete in EU/CIS because every big online tournament was held there.
Following the annòucement, EG remains with four players:
- Artour “Arteezy” Babaev
- Azel “Abed” Yusop
- Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen
- Tal “Fly” Aizik
